This opportunity is with the leading commercial catering equipment and Portable Kitchen supplier to both public and private sector clients across the globe. Location of Work

  • Principally the role is based in and around London / South East.
  • As required by the business, work involves national travel to site installations to attend company equipment and Portable Kitchens. This may be an event, a Portable Kitchen Hire or equipment within a permanent building.
  • There is the opportunity for international travel.

Main Aspects of the Role

  • Develop a good technical understanding of foodservice equipment and Portable Kitchens within the Fleet.
  • Carry out the necessary and appropriate safety checks to ensure each item or catering equipment is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Carry out the necessary and appropriate safety checks to ensure each kitchen unit is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Carry out the necessary and appropriate safety checks to ensure each kitchen installation is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the operation of all items of catering equipment within the hire fleet and the business criticality of each item.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues with items of equipment, kitchen units or kitchen installations as required.
  • Diagnose and order parts to achieve a first time fix.
  • Complete all documentation in a proper and timely manner.
  • Update the company computer systems with equipment information.
  • Complete full inspections and reports to provide for the business and client.
  • Commission to the company standards and safety regulations.
  • Keep your working area clean and stocked and ready to work.
  • Travel to site in order to complete repairs and/or commission items of equipment or kitchen installations as required.
  • Assist and support the Technical Support Department and Projects Department as required on equipment maintenance/repair and installations.

  • To always carry out tasks in accordance with any documented risk assessment and safe working practice and make suggestions for health and safety improvements to your manager.
  • To always report accidents incidents and near misses to your manager as quickly as possible.
  • To always carry out tasks in accordance with any documented processes or procedures.
  • To always tell your manager your ideas for improvising the effectiveness or efficiency of any task that you carry out.
  • To always provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.
  • To always dispose of waste materials in the designated place in order to maximise recycling opportunities.
  • To minimise any waste of water, gas and electricity by ensuring taps are switched off after use and electrical items are switched off when not in use.
  • To always process Company data in accordance with the Company’s Data Protection Policy.
  • To always carry out any other duties asked of you by your Manager or Director.

Essential Qualifications

  • Previous experience and good understanding in electrical/mechanical engineering.
