We’re looking for a 0-4+ years PQE solicitor to join our growing team!

The team has made significant growth this year with the addition of a leading expert and a senior paralegal on route to qualification in 2025. We are now expanding our team even further. We are currently looking to recruit a solicitor who can build their experience working collaboratively on rural matters, whilst also running their own caseload. This may include more straightforward real estate transactions as well as more specialist transactions.

Here at FSP, we are long-established in providing legal services to the rural and agricultural community in the Thames Valley and beyond. There are few firms in the region to rival FSP’s breadth and depth of expertise in this field.

FSP’s Agricultural and Rural Land team is regularly engaged in rural, agricultural and development transactions. The team advises on:

  • Farm disposals and acquisitions
  • Farm related tenancies
  • Ancillary rural commercial ventures such as granting wayleaves and easements to utility providers

The team has significant expertise in farm business diversification projects, offering strategic land advice to clients seeking to leverage greater value through conversion of their natural land to consented development, which includes numerous residential development schemes, renewable energy projects, biodiversity net gain offsetting, forestry, carbon offsetting and agri-environmental incentives, and various other commercial enterprises.

The role offers a significant level of variety and interest. You will work across a range of work-types, which will include more traditional agricultural property work, along with assisting clients with all manner of diversification projects. Clients will span many areas, including farmers, landowners, investors, Universities and Colleges, advising on a whole range of agricultural and development work.

Day to day work includes a wide range of matters connected with rural property, including:

  • Sales and acquisitions of agricultural land and buildings
  • Property development
  • Investment work
  • Renewable energy projects
  • Drafting overage provisions
  • Farm-related tenancies including succession rights and surrenders
  • Wayleaves and easements

You will receive good supervision and training, with the opportunity in time to build a name for yourself in a rewarding and varied discipline. The team will encourage you to get involved in business development opportunities as part of the team and firm generally.

About you: You should be able to demonstrate an interest in the rural sector and an affinity with our clients and contacts. You will benefit from support and career development from highly regarded and experienced partners with access to cases of a quality hard to find elsewhere in the Thames Valley. We like to provide tailored and pragmatic solutions for our clients, so being able to demonstrate a high level of client care is essential.

If you are interested in our vacancy, please apply with a detailed CV.
