As part of a BRAND NEW TEAM EXPANSION, we are looking for Business Development Managers to join our dynamic and fast-paced Ferrero Out Of Home Team!
Role Summary: As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and managing customer relationships across Wholesale and Foodservice channels. Your main focus will be to exceed sales targets, implement operational strategies, and build meaningful relationships with depot managers, foodservice customers, and key stakeholders. You will also work to identify new business opportunities and leverage Ferrero's competitive advantages in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Growth & Target Achievement: Deliver and exceed sales targets within your assigned territory for both Wholesale and Foodservice channels. Secure new and existing product placements using data-driven sales strategies. Maximise brand visibility and drive sales across multiple channels, including seasonal events. Negotiate promotional opportunities and extra space within depots and foodservice outlets. Monitor and adjust strategies to meet or surpass KPIs for Distribution, Availability, and Displays.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with depot managers, foodservice clients (chefs, business owners, catering managers), and other key stakeholders. Educate customers on trade marketing strategies, market opportunities, and category growth. Provide market insights and feedback on customer behaviours, competitor activities, and product performance.
- Operational Excellence & Compliance: Ensure compliance with agreed activities and maintain excellent merchandising and stock rotation standards. Analyse data to identify growth opportunities, improve product availability, and secure new listings. Monitor and improve performance through data-driven recommendations.
- Types of Outlets Supported: Wholesale: Booker, Bestway, Unitas members, and other wholesaler depots. Foodservice: Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés, Bars, Garden Centres, and more. Occasional sales focus in Convenience or other store groups for blitz activities.
- Communication: Foster clear communication with customers and stakeholders, ensuring product availability and promoting new items and offers. Provide feedback and regular updates to managers and clients on market trends, customer satisfaction, and sales performance.
Essential Criteria: To succeed in this role, you will need: Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills. A results-driven attitude and the ability to work autonomously. Preferable, past experience in FMCG sales, with a focus on the Wholesale or Foodservice sectors. A strategic mindset with a passion for identifying growth opportunities. IT literacy, with experience using sales data systems and CRM tools. A positive and flexible attitude with a willingness to adapt and learn. A proven record of achieving results in a team-oriented environment. Right to work in the UK. Full UK Driving License.
