Our Yellowknife office has an immediate opening for a Corporate Service Clerk, working remotely from our Edmonton office. The Corporate Service Clerk is an essential role in assisting professionals in their day-to-day work. You understand the importance of confidentiality in a professional setting and have a great attention to detail. You are organized and able to focus on the task at hand. Your ability to prioritize assists you in meeting deadlines and responding in a timely manner. You are a team player and want to be a part of a great team.
Duties + Responsibilities
- Preparation of Annual Return packages.
- Manually preparing documentation relating to:
- Business names
- Notices of Change of Directors (extra-provincial; domestic, federal)
- Notices of Change of Registered Office
- Notices of Change of Head Office
- Articles of Amendment and supporting documents
- Cessation of Business/Dissolutions and supporting documents
- Extra-provincial registrations in Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon
- Reporting on registrations
- Familiar with Industry Canada – Corporations Branch filings and searches.
- Corporate searches- Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Yukon, Federal and other jurisdictions.
- ALF database entry and updates, etc.
- Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon Society or Non-Profit entity maintenance.
- Reminders on outstanding matters including outstanding accounts.
- Updating client corporate group chats.
- Opening and closing files.
- Interaction and servicing lawyers, internal staff, and clients.
Qualifications + Skills
- Legal Assistant/Paralegal Diploma or related education is required.
- 3+ years’ experience working in a law firm or similar professional setting.
- Advanced computer skills (picks up program navigation easily).
- Knowledge of ALF is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
Working Conditions
Normal week-day office hours (35). Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
