We are starting with battery storage, storing up energy for when it’s needed most to create a more reliable, flexible and greener grid. We have ambitious plans to become the defining new clean energy player in Europe over the next few years, gradually expanding beyond batteries into new asset types.

Overview
The Management Accountant will primarily support the Core Finance team with the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for the group. As part of the reporting responsibilities, you will be responsible for developing and improving financial processes to further automate existing processes. Embedding AI models within finance workflows. Your role will be to provide support across the finance operations by supporting the Head of Finance and Systems with a focus on robust month‑end delivery, strong financial controls, and insightful reporting. You will be preparing management accounts, monthly journals, revenue and cost management, and GL reconciliations. This is a wide‑ranging role and will require the ability to manage a range of stakeholders to deliver to tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities
This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact. Key responsibilities including:

  • Management Reporting
    • Assist with the month‑end close process, ensuring timely posting of all journals
    • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations including fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, leases & inter‑company
    • Prepare VAT returns for multiple entities
    • Review and refine month‑end processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation in collaboration with Finance Systems and Tech teams
  • Financial Systems & Controls - AI Implementation
    • Support and develop Field’s finance processes and infrastructure as we grow.
    • Embedding AI models into existing finance workflows, and supporting the creation of the financial systems
    • Supporting and improving information flows between teams, managing the quality of their outputs and establishing appropriate controls
    • Assist with internal process mapping and documentation of authorisations and other control procedures
  • Business Partnering
    • Support quarterly, half‑year and year‑end reporting cycles, including audit requests
    • Accurate preparation of the management accounts of our live assets
    • Monitor and analyse revenue and cost trends, identifying variances and communicating financial insights
    • Aid the commercial operations team in PO management and cost analysis

Essential Skills
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) – 1‑2 years + post‑qualified experience
Experience in preparation of management accounts and manipulation of financial data
Strong Excel skills, experience using AI models with a desire to further learning and use
Experience with multinational groups
Highly organised, able to plan ahead to deliver accurate information to tight reporting deadlines
Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to work well with different teams and manage a range of different stakeholders
Self‑motivated and aspirational, comfortable working in a fast‑paced changing environment
