Overview
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to strengthen our financial reporting, audit, and compliance capability as we scale. This role is ideally suited to someone newly qualified or with up to 1–2 years’ post-qualified experience, with a strong technical background and a desire to take ownership early in their industry career.
Your role will be to provide support across the finance operations by supporting the Financial Reporting Manager with a focus across statutory reporting, audit, tax, and transactions. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, supporting audit and compliance processes, and gaining exposure to tax and transactions in a fast-growing business.
Key Responsibilities
The role
This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact. Key responsibilities include:
Financial Reporting
Prepare statutory accounts for multiple entities under IFRS / FRS 101/102
Own the production of financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and group policies
Assist in drafting technical accounting papers for key judgement areas (e.g. leases, revenue recognition, capitalisation)
Audit
Act as a primary contact for auditors, owning delivery of accurate and well-prepared audit information
Prepare audit files, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
Support audit planning and help drive an efficient audit process
Contribute to improving internal controls and audit readiness
Tax & Transactions
Support corporation tax compliance across the group, including supporting tax provisioning, reporting requirements, and coordination with external advisors
Support financial due diligence processes for acquisitions
Prepare financial information, data packs, and respond to diligence queries
Contribute to analysis of financial performance, risks, and key considerations
Group reporting and wider contribution
Assist with accounting for complex areas (e.g. hedging, borrowings, business combinations)
Review balance sheet reconciliations with a focus on technical accuracy
Work with the wider finance team to improve reporting, processes, and controls
Contribute to automation and development of scalable finance systems
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
A bit about you
Clear and confident communicator, able to explain technical accounting concepts
Strong attention to detail and pride in high-quality output
Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of deliverables
Analytical mindset with the ability to challenge and think critically
Motivated to grow quickly in a fast-paced, scaling environment
Essential Skills
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) - 1-2 years + post qualified experience
Strong audit background (Big 4 or leading mid-tier preferred)
Solid technical accounting knowledge (IFRS/UKGAAP)
Experience working on complex or high-judgement audit areas
Strong Excel and data handling capability
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs
