Your Mission

As a Project Development Manager you will be responsible for leading a number of our greenfield battery projects through the development and pre‑construction phases. This is a hands‑on, project management role working at the heart of Field’s 3 GW+ GB battery storage portfolio. Key Responsibilities

  • Project management of a portfolio of typically 2–3 BESS development projects including:
    • Full ownership of all PM tools and accountability for programmes, budgets and risk registers;
    • Chairing of weekly project meetings and coordination of core project team;
    • Reporting and escalation.
  • Management of the planning process for greenfield projects in order to submit planning applications and gain all necessary consents, including:
    • Management of technical, environmental and planning consultants to deliver all assessments needed to support a planning application;
    • Discharge of pre-commencement conditions and consent amendments;
    • Stakeholder engagement.
  • Land agreements, including:
    • Supporting the legal and land teams to secure all necessary land agreements;
    • Landowner engagement.
  • Design
    • Acting as Principal Designer and ensuring constructability of projects;
    • Management of site investigations and environmental surveys to inform site design.
  • Grid connections (desirable), including:
    • General understanding of the grid application process;
    • Stakeholder engagement with network operators.
  • Support of the construction team on projects, including:
    • Discharge of pre-commencement conditions and consent amendments;
    • Securing any additional consents and permits.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential Skills

  • Proven project management skills including ownership of programme schedules, risk registers and budgets
  • Strong understanding of consenting regimes within the UK, environmental constraints and their impact on development
  • Understanding of land agreements relevant to development projects
  • Ability to manage consultants autonomously, including running tender exercises and managing consultant delivery
