Field is an international builder, owner, operator of renewable infrastructure. Our Founder and CEO is a successful entrepreneur who previously co‑founded a green energy supplier. We have robust pipelines of BESS projects across the UK, Italy, Spain, and Germany – and strong financial backing. Our most recent fundraise was a £200 million investment from DIF Capital Partners. This will support our mission to grow internationally, and ultimately to build and develop a robust global BESS portfolio.
You will learn from and work with a bunch of fun, curious, and entrepreneurial people who really want to make an impact. Together, we will show that batteries are a totally viable part of our energy infrastructure – now, not in some distant future. We have ambitious plans to become the defining new clean‑energy player in Europe over the next few years, gradually expanding beyond batteries into new asset types.
Your Mission: As a Design Engineer you will be part of our central design team, working across all of our markets globally. Your primary focus will be on GB and German projects, whilst also supporting our wider portfolio across all other markets. You will be based at our head office in London, working closely with our other central teams including Development and Grid.
You will work on projects from origination through to construction, creating site layout plans, planning drawing packages, legal drawings and engineering schematics, with 3D modelling experience also being an advantage.

- Production of 3D site design models using Civil 3D to calculate site levels and earthwork requirements.
- Review of internal and external design packages to ensure all work meets our requirements and standards.
- Ensuring all design work is undertaken in accordance with CDM regulations.
A bit about you: You’re enthusiastic, curious and knowledgeable about the energy storage industry, with a particular passion to learn about the technical aspects of BESS. You’ve got an eye for detail. Accuracy in our designs is critical; you’ll work to a high standard and collaborate with others to ensure constructable designs. You’re very organised – you’ll be spinning a few plates at once, so you’ll need to have tried and tested methods for keeping on top of a varied workload at your fingertips.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
