Key Responsibilities- Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation by reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement measures to minimize accidents and risks.
- Audits & Investigations: Perform health & safety audits and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Fire Safety: Review fire risk assessments and promote fire safety awareness among site teams.
- Training & Leadership: Develop and deliver training on health & safety best practices to managers and employees.
- Incident Reporting: Maintain records of incidents and produce reports to identify trends and improve safety.
- Committee Management: Chair health & safety committees and ensure effective communication and documentation.
- Regulatory Guidance: Stay updated with health & safety legislation, advising senior management on changes.
- Stakeholder Support: Provide expert advice on health & safety queries to all staff levels.
- External Liaison: Collaborate with third-party assessors and authorities to take necessary action on findings.
- A qualification in occupational health and safety, ideally level 6.
- Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- IT literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational and motivational skills.
- Ability to produce reports and develop policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and effective influencing abilities.
