Fidra Energy is looking for a number of Operations Technicians to help operate and maintain our Thorpe Marsh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with industry-leading technology supporting the UK's transition to a low-carbon energy future.
You'll play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient plant operations while developing your career in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the energy industry.
What you'll be doing
- Monitoring and operating the BESS plant through SCADA and control systems
- Carrying out routine inspections and operational checks
- Responding to alarms, faults and abnormal conditions
- Supporting maintenance activities and fault finding
- Assisting with permit-to-work and isolation processes
- Maintaining accurate operational records and shift handovers
- Contributing to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement activities
What we're looking for
- Electrical or technical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Experience within industrial, utilities, manufacturing, power generation or energy environments
- Good understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Experience with SCADA systems, renewable energy assets or BESS technology would be advantageous

- Competitive basic salary + shift allowance
- Bonus scheme – based on personal objectives(25%) and company scorecard (75%)
- Pension Scheme – EE 5% ER 10% for first 2 yrs then can increase, max company will pay is 15%
- Flex Fund of £2,160 pa, paid monthly into salary (£180)
- Life Assurance – x 8 of basic salary
- Group Income Protection - 50% of basic annual salary for up to 5 yrs
- Optional Benefits can include private medical cover, travel insurance, eyecare scheme, discounted gym memberships etc.
