About FIDO Tech
FIDO Tech is an AI‑driven technology business addressing one of the world’s most urgent challenges: water scarcity. Using advanced AI and acoustic technology, FIDO enables water utilities globally to detect leaks with unprecedented accuracy, speed, and cost efficiency.
Beyond utilities, FIDO works with corporate clients to build a catalytic community between corporates, utilities, and technology providers helping organisations strengthen ESG reporting, improve supply chain resilience, and reduce water‑related operational risks across their global footprints.
The role
We are looking for a practical, safety-focused and customer-oriented Field Operations Engineer to support the delivery of leakage investigation and validation activity across water distribution networks. This is a field-based role, helping to identify, confirm and evidence water leakage while supporting the successful use of FIDO technology in operational environments.
You will play an important frontline role in delivering high-quality field investigations, supporting customers and delivery partners, and helping teams understand how to apply FIDO technology and field practices effectively to achieve non-revenue water outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Deliver field operations across FIDO Tech and Aqua Plus programmes in line with agreed plans, priorities and operational standards.
- Carry out safe, accurate and efficient leakage investigations, ensuring work is completed to required quality, technical and reporting standards.
- Use field insight and data outputs to prioritise investigations and support delivery outcomes.
- Provide clear updates on progress, risks, constraints and field findings to Operations, Project Delivery and Technical teams.
- Support customers and delivery partners through practical field-based coaching, demonstrations and guidance.
- Promote correct use of FIDO Sensors, Relays and associated field practices.
- Act as a frontline advocate for FIDO technology, clearly explaining what we do, why it matters and how it supports operational results.
- Work in full compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, risk assessments and method statements.
- Travel across UK field locations and internationally as required to support operational delivery, customer onboarding and training activity.
About you
- You’ll have experience in field-based leakage detection or related water network investigation work, with practical experience using listening devices, correlators or similar equipment.
- You understand water distribution networks, leakage behaviour and non-revenue water principles.
- You demonstrate a methodical, evidence-led approach to investigation and problem solving.
- You’ll have the ability to interpret data outputs and use them to inform field activity.
- You’re a clear communicator, with the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You have strong customer engagement skills and confidence working alongside customers, partners and operational teams.
- You have demonstrable experience working safely in operational or safety-critical environments.
- You must have a full UK Driving licence.
- You must be able to travel across UK field locations, attend the Wigan office and travel internationally when required. This includes having appropriate passport and/or documentation to travel overseas.
Nice to have
- EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
What We Offer
- A mission with purpose: tackling global water scarcity with cutting edge AI and acoustic technology.
- Real world impact: see the direct results of your work through hands‑on field investigations, customer support and improved leakage outcomes.
- Opportunity to collaborate with utilities, delivery partners and internal technical teams.
- Competitive package including equity options and flexibility where the role requirements allow.
- Opportunity to grow and build your technical, operational and customer expertise within a rapidly scaling technology business.
If you’re ready to contribute to a purpose‑driven organisation and play a key role in enabling operational excellence, we’d love to hear from you.
