Meanwhile our original and innovative investigations into river sewage and Covid-19 have led to national press coverage. Our Financial and Securities Litigation team has acted as plaintiffs' experts in the most consequential financial cartels and market manipulation cases of the past 10 years.
We are looking for a Senior Economist to assume responsibility for client relationships in the UK and Northern Europe, and to drive new consulting mandates for Fideres from law firms and regulators. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both financial markets and competition economics, along with strong relationship building and communication skills.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain and expand the network of Fideres’s client relationships in the UK and Northern Europe including: law firms, barrister chambers, litigation funders, competition authorities and enforcement agencies.
- Originate new consulting mandates for the firm, working closely with the internal business development team to produce pitches for clients.
- Proactively manage and develop client relationships, identifying and escalating client needs, risks and new business opportunities.
- Represent Fideres in the discussions with funders and be the main point of contact for such discussions.
- Coordinate information and follow-ups between internal teams and external counsel team.
- Schedule and attend client events (seminar, conferences, etc) to raise the profile of the firm.
- Represent Fideres through selected conferences/public speaking engagements, white papers contributions, op-eds etc.
- Work closely with our public relations firm to manage international marketing and, measure and monitor success.
- Manage our marketing and communications team.
- Manage the Client Relationship team including origination people across multiple Fideres international offices.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Proven experience in an economic consultancy, in a sector regulator, or at a ratings agency.
- Strong academics in economics and/or financial markets.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, energy and a genuine interest in people and relationships.
- Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt communication styles.
- Client focused, has a marketing mindset.
- An appetite for networking and connecting people and problems.
- Experience of dealing directly with clients (such as law firms and/or regulators).
- The ability to communicate effectively on complex issues in simple terms.
- A high level of integrity with a creative and curious mind.
- An interest in coaching, developing and collaborating with others.
