The Equity Research Analyst supports portfolio managers by analyzing a group of stocks within a specific industry, producing investment recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Generate and validate new investment ideas in assigned sub-sectors, by investigating proprietary ranked stocks and monitoring market opportunities.
- Maintain coverage of sector stocks in required portfolios, including:
- Perform industry trend analysis and develop views on sub-sector attractiveness.
- Update recommendations, target prices, and proprietary financial models.
- Monitor investment theses and key variable dynamics.
- Conduct proprietary research and collaborate with peers.
- Engage with company management through meetings and calls.
- Communicate insights and recommendations to the Equity team and broader organization, primarily through in‑person discussions and concise written reports.
Qualifications
- 3–7 years of buy‑side investment research experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate degree or CFA (or progress) preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with high integrity.
- Demonstrated academic and professional success.
- Sound business judgment and interest in financial markets.
- Curiosity, sceptical thinking, and creative problem‑solving.
- Capacity to work independently, make decisions quickly, and engage with senior management.
