Department Description

The Product team is made up of teams providing all product management activities for our global product range (excluding US) that includes cross border mutual funds, locally domiciled funds, ETFs, private assets and alternative funds. There are multiple teams focusing on different stages of the product value chain, from the market reseach to product design and development, from the efficient implementation of products and projects to product governance and legal documentation.

Purpose of the Role

European ProductDevelopmentSM will be part of a team responsible forresearching,developing,andmanagingall European active and passive investment products of Fidelity International. The potential candidate has the ability to think strategically about market opportunities and innovation, and must proive to engage with all key internal stakeholders to successfully launch new products and solutions. The team focus will be to set out guidelines to the overall Product Strategy and to build robust business cases creating consensus and support in all stages from the idea generation to the decision-making stage. He/ She will need to have experience in building out world-class products and solutions, to have the ability to build consensus among multiple internal stakeholders especially Investment professionals and Distribution specialists. He/ She will have significant product management experience in a progressive environment, likely within asset management. He/ She will have a demonstrated proficiency at applying innovation techniques to “real world” ideas.

Key Responsibilities

The European ProductDevelopmentSM is an experienced specialist, with extensive knowledge of financial markets and distribution dynamics, with a problem-solving and pragmatic attitude to connect dots and help the fruitful exchange of experiences and needs between Investments and Sales. A thorough understanding of complexities and technicalities regarding Sustainble products would be a plus. He/ She will be experienced with the full product lifecycle from opportunity identification and evaluation, early strategy, through product development, and launch in the market. As such He/She will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team that could shape the performance of the organization and contribute to the company overall strategy.

Experience and Qualifications Required

Setting Strategy

  • Solid knowledge of core business strategy frameworks, competitive analysis, market definition, and market sizing.
    • Ability to rationalize and frame a portfolio of new businessdevelopmentefforts to align to strategic goals.

Sourcing and Evaluating New Opportunities

  • Research and analytical skills to evaluate and compare opportunities
  • Wide area thinking to synthesize ideas across industries and channels

Product Development

  • Deep understanding of the product-related regulations across multiple domiciles (especially Lux and IRL)
  • Ability to focus on projects across all asset classes and different product segments
  • Understanding ESG and Sustainable Investing product features
  • Experience in product design and product positioning
  • Track record of getting things done on time within tight deadlines and on budget

Relationship and influence

  • Ability to perform into a matrix organization with both direct and indirect reporting lines
  • Proven experience working in a complex environment where relationship building is critical.
