We are a platform engineering team distributed across three regions, building Fidelity’s internal developer platform on AWS. All engineers contribute to both development and operations of the platform, working iteratively in Kanban and following Extreme Programming practices.
We provide AWS landing zones as a developer platform to application teams, ensuring isolated environments with baseline security, networking controls, and RBAC. Our primary development tools include AWS, Python, Terraform, Git, Shell Scripting, Linux, Core Networking, and RBAC. Our goal is to deliver a high‑quality, secure, reliable, and scalable platform that supports FIL’s success.
The role involves engineering and supporting Fidelity’s AWS Core Cloud Services, and owning their long‑term strategic development. Working as part of a global agile team aligned with the AWS Cloud Product Owner, you will provide trusted‑advisor consultancy to enable effective adoption of AWS services and deliver high‑quality MVPs for a robust, automated, and evolving production service.
Key Responsibilities:- Engineer, support, and own AWS Core Cloud Services, ensuring secure, automated, self‑served, innovative, and cost‑efficient delivery.
- Collaborate with FIL teams, including Developer Platform SMEs, Infrastructure Architects, and Delivery contacts to support the product roadmap.
- Showcase AWS core services to developers and product owners and assist with architecture, coding, and problem‑solving when migrating or building applications.
- Identify improvements, propose solutions, and align with the AWS Product Owner strategy.
- Coach and support team members through pairing and encourage an open collaborative culture.
- Advise on baseline security, networking controls, and governance that enable workload teams to operate in full control.
- Strong development and infrastructure engineering background with hands‑on experience in AWS cloud services and delivery of loosely coupled, highly scalable services.
- Proficient with Python and Boto, Terraform, and continuous delivery pipelines with test‑driven development.
- Excellent knowledge of core AWS services, hybrid networking models, authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Experience with network layers and security controls in AWS/hybrid models.
- Agile, Kanban‑based product team experience, delivering MVP value‑add stories.
- Problem‑solving skills across the stack using traditional RCA methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills in Hindi, Chinese, or Japanese are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, motivated team player, and a keen evangelist for technology, security, cloud native development, and open‑source contributions.
