The Brokerage Corporate Actions & Dividends Team is responsible for identifying, tracking, processing and reporting any corporate action events and dividends that affect any security position held by clients of Fidelity’s Retail Investment Platform. The role involves daily contact with market suppliers and information vendors, researching, analyzing and verifying corporate action information, notifying clients or their Advisers, collecting responses, and instructing market suppliers. It also requires liaison with Brokerage Operations and Retail Operations, processing all entitlements accurately and on time, and supporting automation of workflow processes. As a Team Leader, the holder will oversee all team activities, monitor performance, provide guidance to Associates, and take day‑to‑day ownership of the function under the Corporate Actions Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and maintaining departmental procedures.
- Ensuring the team completes daily operational tasks in accordance with defined procedures.
- Checking accuracy of corporate action and dividend input to the accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Initiating and monitoring notifications to clients and Advisers, and following up with instructions to Market Broker/Custodian.
- Monitoring status of corporate action events throughout their lifecycle.
- Resolving queries arising from corporate actions and escalating when necessary.
- Maintaining relationships and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Overseeing the team’s custody reconciliation breaks resulting from dividend activity, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Assigning actions and tasks across the corporate actions team.
- Participating in departmental projects and owning initiative-led activities.
- Providing formal feedback on Market Broker/Custodian performance and participating in service level meetings.
- Challenging internal and third‑party processes to improve efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven global corporate actions experience with supervisory exposure.
- Industry qualification – IAQ or IMC, or proof of ‘Grandfathering’.
- Working knowledge of equity, fixed income, ETF and investment trust asset classes.
- Computer literacy with strong Excel, Word and Outlook skills.
- Self‑starter with a dynamic ‘can do’ attitude and a strong desire to make things happen.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritising multiple tasks.
- Strong, effective communicator at all levels; good team worker sharing knowledge and showing flexibility.
- Experience participating in projects and procedural enhancements.
- Ability to think on your feet and develop innovative and effective solutions to problems.
- Demonstrated results delivery: takes ownership for delivery, effective delegation, problem analysis, and adapting to change.
- Stakeholder/customer management, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Work experience within an Investment Management environment is desirable.
