Team Description

The Asset Management CAO team is responsible front to back, for the operational and supporting capabilities across investment management. The Investment Management Solutions team is a cross asset delivery & support function driving collaboration, consistency & execution across the global asset management platform. The team drives strategic initiatives, provides support services enabling our investment team, and partners with our investment leaders to strengthen oversight, risk controls & regional regulatory engagement.

About your role

As the IM Solutions – Manager you will be responsible for contributing towards the analysis, recommendations and implementation support necessary to identify, implement and embed emerging technologies and data capabilities within the investment platform supporting cross asset research and investment decision making.

You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of our current & future investment capabilities, product & operational platform, business strategy and core asset management teams. To be successful you will need to develop a close partnership with leaders and organisations outside of your immediate team to enable you to compile and provide data and information that will influence decisions at a senior level.

Key stakeholders are the Investment Management leadership team, including the IM CAO, asset class CIOs, research heads, change teams and technology leaders. Working closely with these stakeholders and other internal stakeholders, outstanding analytical, interpersonal and communication skills are essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to initiatives that deliver scalable data, analytics and AI capabilities across the investment platform.
  • Continuously monitor and articulate the benefits of emerging technologies relevant to investment research, analytics and decision support.
  • Independently develop relationships with stakeholders to understand strategic goals, analyse solutions and coordinate required resourcing to ensure goals can be achieved within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Translate complex data and technology topics into clear business value propositions for senior stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, use cases, process flows, solution proposals, test plans etc.
  • Develop strong relationships with asset class CIOs, research leadership, IM CAO and technology partners to understand priorities and shape actionable solutions.
  • Partner with global change teams to initiate projects, define scope, set priorities and support delivery through implementation.
  • Lead or support the execution of project workstreams, ensuring clear milestones, effective risk management and timely delivery.
  • Provide regular reporting, insights and analysis to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify, assess and escalate key risks, issues and dependencies, working with partners to ensure timely resolution.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions and stakeholder communications to drive alignment and adoption.
  • Develop a deep understanding of current-state tooling, existing workflows, data challenges, and administrative support requirements by becoming a Research Solutions super user and executing the associated administrative activities.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and partner functions / vendors.
  • Some travel may be required from time to time.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Relevant experience as a business analyst, data analyst, product manager, project/programme manager or consultant within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of asset management, investment research or adjacent domains.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and presentation skills.
  • Collaborative team player and self-starter, with flexibility to work under a culturally-diverse environment.
  • Experience delivering programme / project plans, product roadmap, decisions impact assessments and vendor management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory rules and translate these to practical business solutions.
  • Previous experience in working with virtual / offshore teams across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of project management & business analysis methodologies.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Python, SQL / Database query capability valued.
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in AI, data science, cloud data platforms and research technologies.
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated to drive business results with a clear career plan.
  • Able to manage stakeholders and deliver high quality work under pressure.
