About Your Team
Investment Services and Solutions is one of the main business pillars and investment areas within Fidelity. It is going through a phase of rapid and substantial transformation of its business model as well as the Technology estate.
The Business Architecture team enable Fidelity’s strategic outcomes by collaborating with stakeholders to drive scalable, impactful transformation. The team works throughout the asset management life-cycle, leading and supporting on a range of initiatives.
The team provide strategic solutions across:
- Business Architecture: “the blueprint of our organisation”
- Strategy Definition: “what do we want to achieve”
- Operating Model Design: “the designs to deliver on the strategy”
- Delivery: “translating the ideas into delivery”
About Your Role
This role plays a crucial part in the development of and delivery of our strategy. In this role you will:
- Understand and be able to describe different Investment Management Operating Models
- Assess different operating models and support stakeholders in understanding pros / cons, and drive towards decision making
- Provide a view of how functions operate, enabling effective decision-making and strategically align, accelerate and de-risk change to our operating model
- Advise on challenges, gaps and areas of opportunity
- Develop and maintain a toolkit of methodologies and templates for business architecture and operating model design
- Independently own design problems, front to back without support, engaging stakeholders, BAs, Technology Architects to achieve the required outcomes
- Develop vision statements and guiding principles to ensure clarity on the end goal
- Able to quickly understand and document problem statements
- Design organisational structures, roles and responsibilities and ways of working
- Define governance structures and frameworks
- Design location strategies, and models such as decentralized vs centralized, in-sourced vs outsourced
- Design new and enhance existing business capabilities
- Outline how various functions interact and how services are delivered
- Collaborate with colleagues in architecture to define the technology architecture and data services
- Provide design governance, and oversight of TOM implementation activities
- Shape, influence and play a leading role in complex strategic initiatives
- Advisory on the Change portfolio, and creation of high-level plans / roadmaps
- Strategic design oversight and advisory to the Steering Committee for projects / programmes
About You
You will be able to demonstrate that you have:
- Led the development of business architectures and operating models
- Extensive experience in the asset management across Investment Management, Operations and Distribution business
- Strong communication skills with different types and levels of stakeholders, including C suite, both internal and external.
- Proven ability to develop and execute enterprise-wide change strategies, incorporating business and technology perspectives
- Effective leadership skills including negotiation, conflict resolution, influencing, bridge-building and political astuteness as well as the ability to motivate and inspire others
- A good understanding of financial markets, products and organisations
