The Blockchain Centre of Excellence (BCoE) is a specialist unit within the Enterprise AI and Engineering division. The team’s mission is to explore and validate blockchain and distributed ledger technology (DLT) solutions relevant to Fidelity’s business and the broader financial industry. As a tight-knit team of technologists and domain experts, we blend technical depth with business insight to unlock value through emerging decentralized technologies.

As a Blockchain Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Fidelity’s DLT initiatives. You will lead and support enterprise blockchain projects and guide the strategic integration of tokenization and digital asset capabilities.

  • Blockchain Assessment & Advisory: Evaluate blockchain platforms and protocols for enterprise use, focusing on scalability, performance, security, and interoperability.
  • Tokenization Strategy: Design and assess tokenization frameworks for regulated financial products, such as mutual and money market funds.
  • Solution Review: Provide critical evaluation of vendor and partner solutions for DLT implementation; perform risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain architectural standards, security models, and integration blueprints for blockchain systems.
  • Deliver hands-on smart contract development and integration with enterprise systems; represent Fidelity in industry forums, publish white papers, and lead internal knowledge-sharing on blockchain and digital asset trends.
  • Engage with business, compliance, and technical stakeholders to align blockchain solutions with enterprise strategy and regulatory expectations.
  • Technology Scouting: Monitor emerging technologies in blockchain including zero-knowledge proofs, oracles, custody, interoperability, and DeFi applications.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • ~7+ years in enterprise IT or software engineering, including 3+ years with blockchain/DLT.
  • ~ Solidity and integrating blockchain with enterprise systems.
  • ~ Familiarity with financial services, particularly in asset management and fund distribution.
  • ~ Experience working with financial regulators or in a regulated financial environment.
  • Awareness of industry initiatives like Project Guardian, Project Jura, and the Tokenized Funds Working Group.
