A well-known and highly respected European manufacturer of packaging machinery serving the food and medical device sectors. Established in the UK for over 40 years, the company has grown its machinery solutions and business model to meet the changing needs of its customer base and their rapidly evolving and increasingly complex market sectors. The business is now looking to appoint an additional dedicated and experienced Field Service Engineer to work in the UK team to serve existing customers and support the growth in new customers.
The role, which reports to the Service Manager (UK based), will join a team of 6 Field Service Engineers who have built a reputation for outstanding customer service, rapid response rates and the ability to solve technical challenges. The successful candidate will have a background in mechanical and electrical engineering and be adept at working under pressure independently and acting as a company ambassador with customers and colleagues alike.
Responsibilities- Act as an expert service engineer for new and existing customers, ideally with experience in the food industry.
- Lead troubleshooting and corrective action planning for the company’s equipment within customer sites.
- Work collaboratively with customer contacts to build strong and proactive customer relationships.
- Engage with customer-based operatives and maintenance staff to lead training and development programmes.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Champion the company’s commitment to excellence in customer service throughout the customer journey.
- Act as a company ambassador, internally and externally, consistently living and breathing the culture and values.
- Recognised apprenticeship or higher qualification (HND or above) in engineering.
- Background and experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Proven experience and success in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Strong credentials in successfully engaging customer stakeholders.
- A commercial mindset to unlock opportunities within customers.
- A strong and committed performer whether working independently or as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, clear communicator with a passion for building long-lasting customer relationships.
- Ability to travel throughout the Midlands & South West for on-site servicing and installations including overnight stays where necessary.
