We are supporting a well-established, FCA-regulated financial services business with the appointment of an FCA-approved SMF3 Executive Director to lead a UK EMI (Electronic Money Institution) licence application. This is a senior, delivery-critical role with clear accountability for the EMI submission and ongoing engagement with the FCA. Candidates must bring direct experience within an EMI / electronic money environment and be comfortable operating at Board level with regulators.
Essential experience:
- Current or prior FCA approval as SMF3 (Executive Director)
- Hands-on experience within an EMI or e-money institution
- Strong understanding of FCA regulatory expectations, governance and control frameworks
- Direct involvement in a previous EMI licence application is highly desirable
Following successful approval, the remit will broaden depending on background (operations, compliance, commercial, sales, or business development), supporting strategic growth and scale-up activity.
