We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract for this growing Bank. This is a key role supporting accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and the ongoing strength of the bank’s control environment.

You’ll take ownership of monthly management accounts, flash reporting, and tax responsibilities across the Group, working closely with the Financial Controller and a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Support the annual report and statutory accounts process
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on corporation tax returns and compliance
• Maintain and develop the Finance team’s risk and controls register
• Provide audit support and contribute to a robust control environment
• Deliver ad hoc financial analysis for senior stakeholders
• Coach and mentor junior members of the Finance team
• Drive continuous improvement across Finance processes

About You

• Experience within financial services, either in practice or industry
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and corporation tax
• Confident communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable challenging and improving existing processes
• On short notice / immediate
