A leading financial services and fintech-driven organisation is seeking an exceptional HR Business Partner to join its People team. This is a high-impact role partnering with Technical, Product, and Marketing teams, supporting senior leadership up to Executive Committee level. You will play a pivotal role in delivering people strategies that drive innovation, high performance, and organisational effectiveness in a fast-paced, technology-led environment.
About the Role
As a strategic advisor and trusted partner, you will work closely with senior leaders to shape workforce plans, forecast future talent needs, and influence key decisions that underpin the company’s growth. You will bring strong credibility, excellent judgement, and the ability to use data, insight, and influence to guide leaders through complex people and organisational challenges. This role requires a strong understanding of financial services regulation, coupled with the ability to navigate fast-growth fintech culture and support technical and product-centric teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing and challenging decisions to ensure alignment of people strategy with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
- Build strong, collaborative, and credible relationships with Executive Committee members, senior leaders, technical managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Lead on organisational design, workforce planning, and capability development to support growth across Technical, Product, Marketing, and related functions.
- People Strategy, Culture & Leadership Effectiveness
- Shape and implement people strategies that drive a high-performance, inclusive culture.
- Support leaders by identifying workforce trends, engagement themes, and development needs to strengthen team effectiveness.
- Play a central role in culture development within both technical and creative teams, ensuring alignment with company values and conduct expectations.
- Talent, Performance & People Cycles
- Lead key HR cycles including salary review, performance, talent mapping, succession planning, and engagement surveys.
- Guide leaders in building strong talent pipelines, integrating succession plans, and prioritising leadership development.
- Work closely with CoEs to set resourcing forecasts, manage budgeting, and align recruitment schedules with business priorities.
- Employee Relations, Risk & Regulatory Compliance
- Provide balanced, commercially aware advice across a broad range of ER matters.
- Ensure HR practices comply with UK employment law, financial services regulations, Conduct Rules, and broader risk frameworks.
- Identify and mitigate regulatory risks in employment situations, ensuring robust governance and documentation.
- Stay abreast of employment legislation, financial-services regulatory changes, and HR best practice.
- Lead and support organisational changes including restructures, product pivots, team growth, and process improvements.
- Recommend and implement HR process enhancements that support scalability and operational excellence.
- Use data, insights, and change-management principles to improve decision-making and drive adoption of key initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong experience as an HR Business Partner within financial services, fintech or banking.
- Proven ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with senior leaders, including ExCo-level stakeholders.
- Experience partnering with technical, product, data, and/or marketing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, ER case management, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in workforce planning, talent management, performance cycles, and organisational design.
- Commercial mindset with excellent judgement and the ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-growth settings.
Preferred
- Experience within a regulated fintech or digital banking environment.
- Familiarity with agile operating models and product-centric team structures.
- Experience using people analytics to influence decision-making.
