Fidarsi are delighted to be partnering with a growing Fintech Bank during an exciting period of development and expansion. We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead UK financial governance, statutory reporting, prudential oversight and regulatory compliance. This is a high-impact leadership role, working closely with the CFO, UK ExCo, Board and wider Group Finance teams. The role is well suited to a senior finance leader with strong experience in regulated banking environments and a deep understanding of the financial, operational and regulatory requirements of an SME-focused bank.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading UK financial governance, controls and regulatory oversight
- Acting as a key finance lead for prudential regulatory compliance
- Overseeing capital, liquidity and regulatory reporting requirements
- Managing the external audit process for UK banking entities
- Overseeing preparation, review and sign-off of statutory financial accounts
- Delivering financial performance, board reporting and regulatory MI to ExCo, Boards and Group stakeholders
- Supporting strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and capital planning
- Providing insight and challenge around financial performance, balance sheet management and business growth
- Leading and developing the finance team
- Operating effectively within a matrix environment with shared service and Group Finance support
The ideal candidate will be:
- A qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Strong experience within an SME bank, challenger bank, commercial bank or regulated lending environment
- Experience owning the process preparing and signing off statutory accounts for regulated financial services entities
- A strong background in banking regulatory reporting, including prudential returns
- Experience preparing, reviewing and approving regulatory submissions
- Good understanding of capital, liquidity, ICAAP/ILAAP and wider prudential requirements
- Exposure to lending, deposits, treasury, FX would be advantageous
- A track record in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting
- The ability to provide insightful, action-oriented analysis to senior stakeholders
- Confidence working with ExCo, Board, auditors, regulators and Group Finance teams
- Experience navigating matrix environments with distributed teams and shared service support
