A specialist consultancy is expanding its leadership team with a Senior Principal/Director to help shape and grow a high-impact advisory and data-driven benchmarking offering for Asset & Wealth Management clients. This is a rare opportunity for someone who knows the Asset Management ecosystem inside out, has led complex client engagements, and wants more ownership, visibility, and strategic influence than a large firm can offer.
Why this could be your next move
- If you’ve built your career in a major consulting house or a large financial-services advisory group, you may recognise some of these realities:
- You spend more time navigating internal process than shaping client outcomes.
- You’re selling impressive capabilities, but unable to influence how solutions evolve.
- You’re delivering great work, but not seeing it translate into meaningful ownership, progression, or autonomy.
- The Asset Management practice is important — but not your playground to build. This role changes that.
You’ll join a specialist business where your AM expertise is core to the mission: scaling proprietary insight, shaping go-to-market offerings, and influencing product direction. You’ll have direct visibility with senior leadership, faster decision-making, and the chance to make a measurable impact on practice growth.
What you’ll lead
- End-to-end delivery of strategic benchmarking and decision-support projects across the AM value chain (front-to-back productivity, market sizing, fee pricing, distribution effectiveness, and more).
- Direct engagement with senior stakeholders across global asset managers, boutiques, and alternatives.
- Development of new propositions, data-led insights, and go-to-market narratives.
- Pitching, solution shaping, and building trusted client relationships that convert into long-term programmes.
- Coaching and developing a talented consulting team, acting as a multiplier of expertise across the practice.
- Driving innovation and contributing to a growing book of business in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
What you bring
- 6–10+ years’ experience in consulting, strategic advisory, or financial-services data/insights businesses.
- At least 4–7+ years working directly with Asset Management clients.
- Deep understanding of AM operating models, investment processes, commercial levers, and industry terminology.
- Strong project leadership: managing multiple workstreams, deadlines and complex stakeholder environments.
- A credible, engaging communication style honed through senior-level client interaction.
- An entrepreneurial mindset: proactive, collaborative, creative, and comfortable shaping what “good” looks like.
- A desire to join a firm where your ideas, ownership and strategic judgement genuinely matter.
Why join a smaller, specialist consulting business?
- More influence. You’ll shape propositions, product, and practice strategy — not just deliver them.
- More visibility. Your work is seen, recognised, and directly tied to firm-wide growth.
- More agility. Less bureaucracy. Faster decisions. Greater innovation.
- More impact. You’ll work on problems that senior leaders genuinely care about, backed by proprietary datasets and benchmarking tools that open doors.
- More progression. With the practice scaling, this is a genuine platform for future leadership.
Package
- Base salary: £150,000–£170,000
- Bonus: meaningful performance-linked structure
- Location: London (hybrid)
