Our Engineers and Consultants support some of the most innovative energy projects across the UK and Ireland, providing design, intellectual, and engineering services to developers, investors, and owner-operators. We have over 175 employees across offices in Stockport, Belfast, Dublin, and Glasgow, and we are now looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Engineer to be based in Stockport with UK and some EU travel.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical engineering design, project management and commissioning for electrical power generation/transmission infrastructure.
- Work on HV, MV and LV systems, embedded generation, protection circuits, grid connections, HV/LV switchgear, substations, and switchyards; coordinate with UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
- Engage with external and internal clients, participate in project meetings, and produce high-quality technical reports and models.
- Utilise electrical engineering software and conduct feasibility, due diligence, and design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare standards within engineering activities.
- Witness site and factory acceptance testing; provide site-based construction monitoring in the UK or Ireland.
- Collaborate within a wider engineering team and autonomously as required.
Qualifications
- A good degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
- Significant post-graduation experience in electrical power generation/transmission infrastructure.
- Experience across HV, MV, and LV systems; embedded generation; protection circuits; grid connections; and coordinating with UK DNOs.
- Strong client-facing and report-writing skills; ability to deliver high-quality technical reports and models.
- Experience with electrical engineering sector software and feasibility/due diligence reviews.
- Commitment to health, safety, and welfare in engineering.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and EU as required.
