JOB TITLE: Pole Tester JOB LOCATION: NI TERMS: Permanent, full-time role. THE JOB The Fibrus Network in Northern Ireland contains a significant volume of wooden poles which carry overhead cables and provide a suitable structure for the mounting of associated equipment. In keeping with wider industry agreed standards, these poles need to be tested at scheduled intervals to ensure they continue to meet those standards and do not exhibit any signs of decay or damage. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Carry out specific tests on Fibrus only poles situated throughout Northern Ireland in accordance with the standards agreed. Working at height as some pole climbing will be required. Carrying out light digging tasks. Following a set programme of testing and co-ordinating work effectively. Meeting set targets ensuring delivery of the testing programme to the agreed completion date. Recording all results from the tests carried out and provide reports where required. Attaching labels to the tested poles which accurately reflect the current status of the pole after test. Ensuring all Health and Safety standards are implemented. Attending all meetings or engaging in all calls which may be required. WHAT WILL YOU BRING? Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential, as full training will be provided. Have proven ability to manage and follow scheduled work programmes. The ability to deliver to the highest possible standards. IT literacy Good interpersonal and communication skills. An organised and proactive approach to work. Ability to work on an autonomously but also as part of a team when required.
