A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of civil engineering and structural alteration projects across Central London. This is a handsāon, siteābased role suited to an engineer who is comfortable working in live, constrained urban environments and managing engineers on site.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support two Site Engineers, providing technical guidance and daily direction
- Oversee setting out, engineering control and technical delivery of civil and structural alteration works
- Support the Project Manager with planning, sequencing and constructability input
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements
- Review and manage RAMS, permits and engineering documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors, clients and internal site teams
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
- Proactively resolve technical and siteābased issues
- Civil engineering works in constrained urban environments
- Structural alterations to existing buildings and assets
- Reinforced concrete structures and associated civils works
- Interfaces with utilities, highways and live operational sites
- Proven experience in a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer role within civils or structural works
- Strong civil engineering background with exposure to structural alterations
- Experience managing and mentoring site engineers
- Comfortable working across multiple London sites
- Strong communication, coordination and problemāsolving skills
- SMSTS and CSCS are essential
