A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of civil engineering and structural alteration projects across Central London. This is a handsāon, siteābased role suited to an engineer who is comfortable working in live, constrained urban environments and managing engineers on site.
The successful candidate will take technical responsibility for civil and structural works, overseeing two engineers and working closely with the Project Manager to ensure safe, efficient and highāquality delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and support two Site Engineers, providing technical guidance and daily direction.
- Oversee setting out, engineering control and technical delivery of civil and structural alteration works.
- Support the Project Manager with planning, sequencing and constructability input.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
- Review and manage RAMS, permits and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, clients and internal site teams.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Proactively resolve technical and siteābased issues.
- Civil engineering works in constrained urban environments.
- Structural alterations to existing buildings and assets.
- Reinforced concrete structures and associated civils works.
- Interfaces with utilities, highways and live operational sites.
- Proven experience in a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer role within civils or structural works.
- Strong civil engineering background with exposure to structural alterations.
- Strong reinforced concrete experience (RCāfocused candidates will be considered).
- Experience managing and mentoring site engineers.
- Comfortable working across multiple London sites.
- Strong communication, coordination and problemāsolving skills.
- SMSTS and CSCS are essential.
