About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Trailer Technician to join our busy Ground Support Equipment (GSE) maintenance team at London Gatwick Airport. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, servicing, and maintenance on trailers and dollies used across the airside operation, ensuring all equipment is safe, reliable, and maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs and maintenance on GSE trailers and dollies as instructed by the Workshop Supervisor.
  • Conduct inspections both in the workshop and airside, reporting any defects before work begins.
  • Collect and deliver equipment for servicing and repairs when required.
  • Record all completed work, inspections, and non-productive time accurately in the maintenance system.
  • Notify the Workshop Supervisor of any additional work, defective parts, or materials required.
  • Ensure all parts and tools are correctly labelled, stored, and used safely.
  • Report any defective tooling or unsafe equipment immediately.
  • Complete daily timesheets accurately and on time.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in vehicle, plant, or trailer maintenance and repair.
  • Good mechanical understanding and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Basic knowledge of health & safety practices in a workshop environment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Welding or fabrication experience (desirable).
  • Forklift licence (desirable).
