We are seeking a Sales Director in London to steer our commercial strategy and lead business growth across the UK, who will have the following Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management & Business Development
- Build, develop, and retain a diversified portfolio of clients across different sectors and company sizes.
- Self-generate leads, conduct prospecting activities, secure appointments, and negotiate contracts with senior stakeholders (CEOs, CFOs, Technical/Innovation Directors).
- Prepare tailored commercial proposals and finalise contractual agreements.
- Oversee the successful delivery of all assigned projects and maintain strong relationships with partners.
- Support marketing activities and build a robust networking strategy to strengthen indirect business channels.
- Update client and partner data weekly within the CRM system.
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop, implement, and own the UK sales strategy and annual sales plan.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the UK sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
- Set clear KPIs and ensure the team focuses on high‑value business development opportunities.
- Contribute to the overall strategic direction of the UK business alongside the management team.
- Key Account & New Business Development
- Drive the acquisition of high‑value strategic accounts, managing complex negotiations.
- Engage senior decision-makers to secure long-term partnerships.
- Strengthen relationships with strategic partners and oversee the delivery of key client projects.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing team to develop impactful demand‑generation strategies.
- Ensure accurate CRM reporting to support forecasting and sales analysis.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a candidate who brings:
- 5+ years of commercial leadership experience in B2B professional services, consultancy, or innovation funding.
- Essential: At least 3 years of experience managing and developing high‑performing sales teams.
- Essential: previous experience in the R&D Tax credits landscape.
- Strong understanding of the UK economic landscape and key innovation sectors.
- Solid comprehension of technical and innovation environments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.
- A proactive, autonomous, and persistent approach with a strong focus on achieving challenging targets.
- A professional, commercial mindset with the drive to succeed in a target-driven environment.
