Band 3 Radiology Bookings Officer – 30 hours per week

Are you organised, motivated and passionate about delivering an excellent patient experience? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our busy Radiology Department as a Radiology Bookings Officer.

This is a key role within the department, responsible for coordinating and booking outpatient appointments across multiple Trust sites and a range of specialties. You will play an important part in ensuring our administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently, helping patients access the care they need.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Booking and coordinating patient appointments across multiple Trust sites.
  • Responding professionally and efficiently to telephone and email enquiries.
  • Liaising with patients, clinical teams and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supporting the department to meet key performance and service targets.
  • Providing a welcoming and professional service to patients and visitors.
  • Supporting the smooth running of Radiology reception areas by providing reception cover when required.
  • Contributing to an efficient, collaborative and patient-centred administrative service.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will primarily book patient appointments and provide administrative and clerical support to the Radiology Department.
  • This will involve making and receiving calls with patients and covering the reception desk as required.
  • The post involves data input into the EPIC and ICE computer systems.
  • Arranging appointments over the telephone with patients.
  • Booking patient appointments from waiting lists.
  • Rescheduling and cancelling appointments at short notice, when required.
  • Rescheduling of appointments due to annual leave/other commitments.
  • Liaising with clinical admin.
  • Covering the reception areas on an ad hoc basis.
