FGS Global is a leading global strategic communications consultancy operating from 31 offices around the world. We are currently seeking an ambitious and driven candidate at Director level, with deep experience in the Retail and consumer sector, and a financial communications background. The candidate will join our expanding practice and provide exceptional service to our high-profile retail and consumer clients across a range of activities including corporate strategy and reputation, financial reporting and crisis and issues management as well as supporting new business expansion and growth. The role, which is based in the Adelphi building, overlooking the Thames, may also entail supporting FGS Global's clients across other sectors and the opportunity to get involved with project work including M&A and IPO Communications and crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day account lead with clients.
- Leading and overseeing first drafts of key materials including communications plans; sector and company analysis, briefing notes, Q&A, key messages and press releases, as well as digital content including video scripts and LinkedIn posts.
- Developing integrated corporate reputation strategies by leveraging expertise from our specialists in research and insights; equity advisory, transformation and change, government affairs and collaborating across practices and offices.
- Strong expertise in media relations, including crafting compelling media materials, pitching stories, and handling media inquiries. Building and maintaining strong media relationships, to support clients’ communications strategies, secure impactful coverage, and manage media engagement effectively.
- Understanding clients' perspective, business, issues and peers and bringing forward ideas for integrated solutions.
- Establishing strong relationships within account teams and client teams via great leadership, teamwork and collaboration.
- Correctly judging mission-critical situations and escalating appropriately.
- Helps to support the growth of FGS Global, through strong networking, and proactively horizon-scanning for new business opportunities, playing a critical role in new business proposals and pitches.
- Contributes to the growth of FGS Global, working collaboratively with colleagues in the UK and globally to support the delivery of excellent client work, as well as driving new business opportunities and striving for innovation.
- Proactively manages team members on accounts, supervises work and delegates appropriately, and provides feedback and coaching to more junior team members.
Necessary attributes:
- The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the Consumer sector and a strong financial communications background, as well as:
- 6+ years of experience in a similar PR agency environment.
- Bachelor’s level degree or MBA or equivalent.
- A proven ability to navigate the UK media landscape, leveraging strong media connections to deliver value for clients.
- Deep interest in business and current affairs and helping leading organisations grow, change recover and rebuild.
- Continually seeks to broaden knowledge and contact base through networking; shares expertise.

Skills:

- Proficient in the use of AI, online/digital tools, social media monitoring and distribution channels.
- Has a good understanding of financial accounting, the analyst/IR landscape and corporate finance.
- Has strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong personal integrity and acts as a role model and ambassador of the firm’s values.

- Base salary competitive according to merits of the candidate.
