An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Livestock enterprise for a Livestock Assistant to work with a herd of over 350 suckler cows and followers, predominantly Limousin cross Sussex, and assist with the beef finishing of over 400 cattle.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the rearing of 200+ calves annually using our calf rearing unit.
  • To assist with livestock husbandry of a 350+ strong suckler herd and followers.
  • You will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day farm, general livestock duties, feeding TMR, calving (including nights), fencing, stock handling and other associated duties.
  • Daily maintenance of all livestock machinery.
  • Carry out general farm work to include grassland and arable operations during summer months.
  • Driver and operate farm machinery proficiently and safely.

Requirements for role:

  • Good tractor and telehandler skills.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and hard-working attitude is essential.
  • To be someone with a proven track record, experience in livestock husbandry, who is well-organised and keen to take on responsibility.
  • You must be self-motivated and able to work on your own as well as within a team.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is required.
  • PA sprayer and telehandler tickets desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
