The App product owner is responsible for maximising the value of the company’s iOS and Android mobile apps. This role owns the mobile app product vision, roadmap and backlog, ensuring the app delivers a fast, reliable, and engaging customer experience while meeting commercial objectives. Working in partnership with lead product management, UX, digital analytics, design, and cross‑functional teams to develop, manage, and measure product enhancements that support business strategy and growth.
Accountabilities
- Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the mobile app product vision aligned to broader digital and commercial strategy
- Create and maintain a clear, prioritised roadmap for the app
- Identify opportunities where mobile app capabilities outperform mobile web
- Backlog Ownership & Delivery
- Own and prioritise the mobile app backlog, including features, tech debt, performance, and platform upgrades
- Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria tailored to hybrid app constraints
- Make informed trade‑offs between speed, quality, and scope
- Customer Experience & Performance
- Champion mobile app UX, performance, and reliability
- Use analytics, crash reporting, and performance tooling (e.g. New Relic, Firebase, Kibana) to guide decisions
- Continuously optimise key user journeys (onboarding, browse, checkout)
