About The Role
We have a great opportunity for you to support FGH’s Warehousing & Logistics Programme, where you will utilise best practice Business Analysis techniques, skills and behaviours. In this role you will also support the Business Architect by bringing knowledge and understanding from projects to the broader architecture domain. The role sits within the Business Change Team which is part of FGH’s Value Delivery Office function. The Business Analyst will be a key individual in providing support to the Warehouse / Logistics programme, through strong business analytical skills, facilitation skills and effective relationship building.
Accountabilities
- Exhibit solid and comprehensive business analysis skills, including the ability to think in a clear and structured way, and to bring clarity and structure where there is complexity and a lack of understanding.
- Work with a range of different stakeholders and navigate through complex issues to get to a conclusion, bringing stakeholders with you as much as possible.
- Develop high quality documents, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, which are clear, well‑constructed and well‑formatted, with a strong attention to detail.
- Support or lead in workshops, which may include activities such as mapping new / optimised warehousing, logistics, supply chain processes, defining and approving business requirements, and leading cross‑functional workshops.
- Be prepared to take a supporting or lead role, depending upon the need.
- Work with the PM on your projects, taking ownership for specific deliverables or activities, and be comfortable working to a brief.
- Act as the Manufacturing/Logistics/Supply Chain process expert.
- Support the Business Architect in developing a Business Architecture which captures essential aspects of the business.
- Play an active role in UAT to ensure test plans align with requirements/designs and any changes or defects are fully understood and impact assessed.
- Capture and document business processes to an agreed standard using Visio or similar tool.
- Capture and document business requirements, ensuring that scope is delivered as agreed.
- Work with business stakeholders to capture Business Change assets, such as Business Change Impact analysis items, Training Needs, Process Changes etc.
- Carry out Root Cause Analysis to support business in identifying business change needs.
- Facilitate and contribute to formal document review, providing structured and clear feedback, and coordinating the feedback of others.
- Employ clear quality criteria to ensure a consistent, high‑quality outcome.
Essential ABOUT YOU
- Able to commute to Bradford City Centre.
- Prior experience implementing Warehouse Management / Order Management systems.
- Prior experience of supply chain management and logistics.
- Prior experience of implementing ERP solutions, ideally Dynamics 365.
- Competent user of Word and PowerPoint to create high quality deliverables and assets.
- Proficient user of Excel as a key tool in the Business Analyst’s bag.
- Specific skills in capturing data in a structured way, sorting and filtering data, summarising data using Pivot Tables, visualising data, and carrying out simple automation or data processing tasks using formulae.
- Basic commercial understanding of business and retailing.
- Previous role held, work placement or part‑time role in a commercial or retail environment.
- Hands on and practical, as well as strategic.
- Confident communication skills, able to engage stakeholders and peers effectively.
- Capable of researching complex issues and assisting in the production of recommendations at director and senior management level.
Desirable
- Prior experience of working with a pure play on‑line retailer.
- Business process optimisation, lean manufacturing / six sigma experience.
- Understanding of ERP / SCM / WMS / OMS supplier landscape.
- Advanced Excel user.
- Basic competence in use of a database package such as Access.
- Good understanding of retailing, markets, customer groups.
- 6 Months plus experience in a commercial environment.
