Following the recent merger of FGE and NexantECA, two global leaders in energy market intelligence, insight, and consulting, we are expanding our London operations. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and analytical individual to advance their career while gaining international exposure to the global oil markets. We are seeking an Oil Analyst to join our growing team. This role involves gathering and interpreting data, building and maintaining supply and demand models, and developing forward-looking forecasts. The successful candidate will work across the barrel on oil product analysis, contributing to our market insights and advisory services. You will collaborate closely with specialists in upstream, refining, energy transition, and macroeconomics, gaining exposure to the full oil value chain. This is an ideal position for someone with a passion for energy markets and data, and who is looking to develop into a regional or subject matter expert.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to support market insights
  • Build and update oil product supply and demand models
  • Develop short- and long-term market forecasts
  • Prepare client-facing presentations and written reports
  • Contribute to client deliverables, including briefings and workshops
  • Support senior analysts and consultants on cross-functional projects

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be numerically strong, curious about energy markets, and eager to develop technical modelling expertise. Industry experience is a plus, but not essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in the energy sector and a genuine passion for data
  • Highly numerate; background in science, engineering, economics, or a related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including functions such as VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH)
  • Strong analytical and financial/economic modelling capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident presenter with PowerPoint proficiency
  • 1–2 years of industry or relevant experience preferred
