The Role
We are looking for an outstanding Head of Long-Term Demand to lead FGE's global long-term oil and liquids demand outlook.
This is a senior research and thought-leadership role, combining rigorous analysis and modelling with strong commercial judgement and client engagement. The successful candidate will develop differentiated views on how economic growth, demographics, technology, transport electrification, petrochemicals, aviation, efficiency and energy policy will reshape demand over the coming decades.
Working across FGE's oil, refining, NGL, chemicals, gas and LNG, and energy-transition teams, they will ensure we have a coherent and integrated long-term view across regions, sectors and products.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will bring:
- Significant experience in oil, energy, commodities or energy-transition analysis.
- Deep understanding of global oil demand and its underlying sector drivers.
- Experience developing long-term forecasts, scenarios and strategic market outlooks.
- Strong quantitative, modelling and analytical capability.
- Understanding of the economic, demographic, technological and policy drivers of energy demand.
- Strong knowledge of transport, refining, petrochemicals or related energy markets.
- Excellent communication skills and experience presenting to senior industry audiences.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how clients use market intelligence.
- Experience leading analysts, projects or major research programmes.
Experience within an energy company, commodity trading organisation, consultancy, investment bank or market-intelligence provider would be particularly relevant.
We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, commercially minded and collaborative, with the confidence to challenge established thinking and develop a clear point of view.
You will be equally comfortable working with data and models, developing market views, leading people and engaging with senior clients. Most importantly, you will be able to turn complex analysis into clear conclusions that help clients understand how the energy system is changing and what it means for their business.
