The Role
We are looking for an outstanding Head of Long-Term Demand to lead FGE's global long-term oil and liquids demand outlook.
This is a senior research and thought-leadership role, combining rigorous analysis and modelling with strong commercial judgement and client engagement. The successful candidate will develop differentiated views on how economic growth, demographics, technology, transport electrification, petrochemicals, aviation, efficiency and energy policy will reshape demand over the coming decades.
Working across FGE's oil, refining, NGL, chemicals, gas and LNG, and energy-transition teams, they will ensure we have a coherent and integrated long-term view across regions, sectors and products.

Job Requirements

What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will bring:

• Significant experience in oil, energy, commodities or energy-transition analysis.
• Deep understanding of global oil demand and its underlying sector drivers.
• Experience developing long-term forecasts, scenarios and strategic market outlooks.
• Strong quantitative, modelling and analytical capability.
• Understanding of the economic, demographic, technological and policy drivers of energy demand.
• Strong knowledge of transport, refining, petrochemicals or related energy markets.
• Excellent communication skills and experience presenting to senior industry audiences.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how clients use market intelligence.
• Experience leading analysts, projects or major research programmes.

Experience within an energy company, commodity trading organisation, consultancy, investment bank or market-intelligence provider would be particularly relevant.
We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, commercially minded and collaborative, with the confidence to challenge established thinking and develop a clear point of view.
You will be equally comfortable working with data and models, developing market views, leading people and engaging with senior clients. Most importantly, you will be able to turn complex analysis into clear conclusions that help clients understand how the energy system is changing and what it means for their business.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Lead FGE's Long-Term Demand Outlook

• Own FGE's global long-term oil and liquids demand outlook across regions, sectors and products.
• Develop robust forecasts covering road transport, aviation, marine, petrochemicals, industrial demand, LPG, naphtha and NGLs.
• Assess the impact of EV adoption, efficiency, alternative fuels, technology, demographics, economic development and policy.
• Develop clear base-case assumptions, scenarios and sensitivities supported by robust data and modelling.
• Ensure regional and sector forecasts reconcile into a consistent global view.

• Identify the structural changes that will have the greatest impact on global energy and liquids demand.
• Develop clear FGE views on issues such as the changing geography of demand, EV displacement, petrochemicals growth, aviation, emerging markets and alternative fuels.
• Connect changes in demand to their implications for crude balances, refining, product markets, trade flows and investment.
• Challenge consensus thinking where supported by evidence and clearly communicate the assumptions and uncertainties behind FGE's outlook.

• Establish FGE as a leading voice on the long-term outlook for oil and liquids demand.
• Produce high-impact research, insights and presentations for senior industry audiences.
• Represent FGE through client briefings, conferences, webinars, media and industry events.
• Build relationships with senior clients and understand the strategic questions driving their decisions.
• Support new business, renewals, executive briefings and bespoke client engagements.

• Work with Research, Product, Data and Technology teams to strengthen FGE's long-term demand capability.
• Improve the datasets, assumptions, methodologies and models underpinning the outlook.
• Help develop more interactive and scalable analytical tools, enabling clients to explore assumptions, scenarios and sensitivities.
• Provide intellectual and analytical leadership across FGE's demand research.
• Develop and mentor analysts and strengthen collaboration across FGE's global research teams.
