As Construction Manager at FGA Group, you will take responsibility for coordinating and delivering projects from conception through to completion. You will be expected to understand construction drawings in detail, organise and order materials and suppliers, manage site operations, and ensure projects remain on programme and within budget. The role requires someone who is commercially aware, highly organised, and comfortable making decisions on live projects. The applicant must have genuine experience in the construction and refurbishment of steel frame industrial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage industrial construction and refurbishment projects from start to finish
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical information
  • Coordinate procurement and liaise directly with suppliers to design, source, and order materials
  • Manage Site Managers and subcontractors across multiple stages of the project life cycle
  • Oversee all site activities to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
  • Monitor project progress against programme and resolve issues proactively
  • Ensure works are completed to required quality and compliance standards
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractor activities
  • Attend and lead site meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Support planning, sequencing, and overall project delivery strategy
  • Ensure smooth project handovers and completion documentation
  • Travel regularly to sites and maintain a strong on-site presence where required.

The ideal candidate will have extensive practical construction experience and be comfortable taking ownership of projects from inception through to completed industrial buildings. You will be equally comfortable on-site managing trades and subcontractors as you are working in the office reviewing drawings, coordinating suppliers, and planning delivery programmes.
