Motus Commercials located in Barnsley is on the lookout for a dedicated DAF PDI Technician to join our friendly team providing exceptional levels of service to our customers. The position will see you working 5 days per week, Monday to Friday:
- Week 1 - 07.00 am - 16.15 pm
- Week 2 - 07.45 am - 17.00 pm
- Potential of flexible working hours if feasible
Salary - Up to £38,410.56

As a PDI Technician at Motus Commercials in Barnsley, we will be looking for you to be able to demonstrate:
- Time served Technician with City & Guilds or Equivalent
- Minimum 1 year post Apprentice experience
- Routine Maintenance knowledge
- General mechanical ability
Main duties will be:
- Prepare new vehicles for delivery to customers following New sales instructions
- Inspect/receive new vehicles from delivery companies
- Install vehicle accessories and upgrades in line with legislation
- Retrofit manufacturer approved safety systems
- Complete vehicle recalls and campaigns as recommended by manufacturer
- Diagnose, observe, recognise and report on vehicle or component defects or symptoms of impending failure
- Ensure all manufacturer paperwork and electronic documentation, i.e., DAF-check, PDI sheets are fully completed and signed off
- Interpret and implement technical service instructions data, to ensure a repair or replacement component is replaced or repaired in line with manufacturers' instruction
- Carry out receiving inspections to vehicles that are at 3rd party bodybuilders or other dealers off site as needed
- Draw the Supervisor/Workshop Controller's attention to any faults noticed in either the interests of the owner or other faults that could make the vehicle dangerous or illegal if taken out on a public highway
- Protect all vehicles under repair against damage and inspect each vehicle for damage and cleanliness upon completion of repair
- Attend recognised courses of instruction as and when required and assist in the training of apprentices upon assignment
