Location : Hybrid (Cowbridge, South Wales)
Contract type : Permanent Full-time (34 hours per week, with a shorter day on Fridays!)
Salary : £23-24k (Full-time equivalent, depending on experience)

What You\’ll Be Doing
As a Finance Assistant, you will gain hands-on experience in a professional finance environment, working closely with our finance team to develop essential accounting skills. You will be supported in your studies to achieve an AAT qualification, providing a strong foundation for a career in finance.
Responsibilities
You will support the finance team with a range of day-to-day tasks while developing your knowledge and skills. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with data entry for financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policies.
- Helping to process purchase invoices, checking for accuracy and coding them correctly.
- Supporting with sales invoicing, ensuring invoices are raised and sent to customers on time.
- Assisting with bank reconciliations, matching transactions and investigating discrepancies.
- Organising and maintaining finance records, including electronic filing.
- Helping to process employee expense claims, checking receipts and approvals.
- Assisting with basic credit control tasks, such as sending reminder emails to customers.
- Learning to use accounting software (Sage) and updating financial spreadsheets.
- Supporting the finance team with general administrative duties, such as handling emails and queries.
- Assisting in preparing basic reports and summaries under supervision.
- Providing support on ad hoc tasks and finance projects as required.
Who We\’re Looking For
To join FFT as our Finance Assistant, youll need to have:
- A strong interest in finance and accounting.
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (grades 4-9/A-C), including Maths and English
- A keen eye for detail with good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Its a Bonus If You Also
- Have obtained or are already working towards a level 2 AAT qualification or above
- Have experience using Sage, particularly Sage Intacct.
