We're looking for a Production Manager to support their exciting slate of films, growing in ambition each season. Reporting into the Production Lead, the PM will be responsible for translating creative visions into a brilliantly executed production, responsible for the logistics and budgets for Ffern’s biggest shoots. An essential part of the team, you’ll be critical in helping to pull off some of the most ambitious ideas to date.

This role needs someone who is detailed orientated, tenacious, exceptionally organised and a strong communicator. A Production Manager who is calm under pressure and able to find the solutions to problems.

What you'll do

  • Pre‑production: Creating and managing the budgets for Ffern’s seasonal films; Identifying talented crew and cast to work across the film team’s slate; Sourcing and permitting locations; Managing equipment hire/purchase; Supporting with talent/casting process; Supporting Art Department / Costume Departments; Creating and negotiating contracts/fees with crew; Working with insurance/legal experts; Managing travel, visas and carnets; Booking travel, accommodation, catering and other logistics for shoots.
  • Production: Problem‑solving during shoots; Creating and sending out call‑sheets; Creating movement orders; Managing crew/cast welfare on‑set; Approve and monitor purchases; Ensuring risk assessments and health and safety regulations are met; Managing the development and shipping of 16mm / 35mm film; Supporting talent needs on‑set.
  • Wrap: Reconciliation of productions; Ensuring all crew and cast are paid on‑time; Support transition into post‑production.

What we're looking for

  • Must have: 5‑10 years in film/TV/commercial production environments; Exceptional organisational skills; Knowledge of production workflows and processes; Contacts with relevant suppliers and vendors; Experience creating contracts for crew and cast; Experience handling health and safety, legal and insurance issues; Proven experience creating, managing, tracking and reconciling budgets; Track record of creating schedules, call‑sheets and movement orders; Experience planning and producing international shoots; Extensive experience on‑set, managing crews between 15‑60 people.
  • Nice to have: Have worked for a production company that has done commercial or feature length films.
