Creative - Film Team in London

At Ffern, film is not just something you watch, It\’s how a season unfolds, how a place, a feeling, a moment is carried.We\’re looking for a Creative (Film) to help imagine and shape our seasonal films from first thought to final frame. Someone equally comfortable with ideas and execution, who can move fluidly between writing, visual thinking and hands-on collaboration to protect the integrity of the work at every stage.This role sits within Ffern\’s Film Studio, working closely with directors, producers and our in-house creative team to ensure every film is conceptually clear, visually refined and thoughtfully crafted.The Role You\’ll be responsible for developing and shepherding creative ideas across Ffern\’s film output, translating early concepts into clear treatments, references and finished films that feel unmistakably Ffern.From shaping treatments and researching directors to being present on set and guiding edits through post, you\’ll help ensure our films are coherent, considered and emotionally resonant across every touchpoint.What You\’ll Do Creative Development & Treatments Develop clear, beautifully considered treatment decks that articulate concept, tone, narrative and craftTranslate briefs into strong creative directions, from early ideas through to storyboarded filmsWrite precise, on-brand copy for supers, VO and social adaptationsVisual Research & Direction Lead visual research across film, photography, art, fashion and culturePull sharp, relevant references that guide directors, HODs and post teamsHelp define look, palette, format and capture approach in collaboration with the wider Film StudioDirector, Talent & HOD Collaboration Research and build director shortlists aligned to creative ambition and budgetSupport outreach, availability checks and early conversations alongside productionCreate talent lists, draft casting bid letters and support negotiations with agents and partnersCollaborate closely with HODs (DoP, Production Design, Costume, HMU and others) to align vision and executionOn-Set Creative Stewardship Be present on shoot days to support the director and producerHelp protect the creative through practical decision-making and clear communicationEnsure the original intent is upheld while responding calmly to real-world constraintsPost-Production & Delivery Review edits, grades, sound and title design with a meticulous eyeGive clear, constructive and actionable feedback across post-productionMaintain consistency of tone, craft and brand expression across all film outputsCross-Channel Craft & Adaptation Adapt hero films into trailers, teasers and social assets with platform-appropriate storytellingEnsure creative integrity is maintained across all formats and durationsDocumentation & Handover Maintain clear creative documentation including treatments, references and shot listsEnsure smooth handovers so teams can move quickly and confidentlyQualifications 5+ years\’ experience in film or advertising (agency, production company or brand studio)A strong portfolio or reel showing treatments, storytelling and visual sensibilityConfidence writing short-form copy, VO and supersA solid understanding of production craft and post-production workflowsComfort collaborating with directors, producers and HODsProficiency in Google Suite, Notion and Keynote (or equivalent)Familiarity with Adobe CC (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop) as a plusWillingness to travel for UK and international shootsA full UK driving licence is a bonusBenefits Competitive salary: Experience dependent.Healthcare: Private healthcare offered as standard.Holidays: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, growing by 1 day per year spent with us.Remote work: All full-time London studio roles are three days a week in the studio, with two days flexible (team lunch at a top Hackney eatery if you come in on the flexible days).Ffern membership: All of our team are members of the Ffern ledger.Team dynamic: Fun, laid-back and sociable team with regular team meals, breakfasts, drinks and outings.Beautiful work environment: We work from a pair of sunlit studio spaces off Columbia Road with state-of-the-art kit, MacBooks and breakout spaces.Why Ffern?
