Duties and
Responsibilities: Carry out technical research, practical investigations, prototype testing, and engineering analysis under the direction of senior engineers or technical leads.
Evaluate and benchmark competitor products, alternative technologies, and relevant engineering approaches.
Analyze test results and technical data, drawing clear conclusions and making evidence-based recommendations.
Undertake, bench testing, fault finding and root-cause analysis of unusual product or system behavior.
Produce and communicate results to colleagues and stakeholders as clear technical records, investigation summaries and reports to support engineering decisions.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the development and production engineering teams to deliver practical, robust engineering solutions.
Demonstrate ownership, enthusiasm, and initiative when delivering assigned technical work.
Maintain awareness of relevant technologies, product developments, and engineering best practice.
Skills and
Experience: Essential Practical experience in an engineering, product development, R&D, manufacturing, or technical investigation environment.
Familiarity with electronics, including schematics, datasheets, circuit layout, prototyping and bench testing.
Experience using Python or Matlab for engineering analysis, data processing or test automation.
Comfortable working hands-on with products, prototypes, test equipment, and experimental setups.
Proactive problem-solving attitude with strong ownership and accountability.
Clear communication and collaborative working style.
Desirable Knowledge of optics, sensing technologies, or related product areas.
Experience supporting products through development, verification, production or sustaining phases.
Experience using collaborative tools such as JIRA, Confluence or similar.
Exposure to formal problem-solving techniques such as the 8D process.
Other requirements Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
