About the role
As the Senior Buying Manager for our dynamic Ladieswear team at F&F, you’ll take the lead on shaping our online ranges for one of the UK’s most loved fashion brands. In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with your Merchandiser, Design and Technical teams to plan and deliver commercial, fashion‑forward and profitable online collections that truly meet our customers’ needs. You’ll also play a key role in developing and inspiring your team to deliver a best‑in‑class online shopping experience. This role is ideal for an experienced Buyer ready for their next challenge – someone who can collaborate effectively with fellow Buying Managers to drive top‑line strategy and deliver against key KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Creating a top‑line strategy for your department working with your Merchandise Planning Manager and your team to deliver this each season.
- Working with the design team to research and develop product ranges that will hit seasonal trends and set the standard, aligned with the brand’s identity.
- Building ranges for your category with merchandising colleagues, and the design team, making sure you cater for all our customer's needs, preferences and buying behaviours.
- Reviewing existing supplier performance and leading the sourcing strategy for the department in alignment with the overarching sourcing strategy.
- Negotiating costs and setting the selling price to deliver product margin for the dept – working with suppliers and the technical team to ensure fit and quality standards are met.
- Overseeing critical path with your team and suppliers, ensuring key dates are met to ensure on time launch.
- Trading your department with your Merchandise Planning Manager and suppliers to react quickly to opportunities and trends in addition to de‑risking where relevant.
- Ensuring we have knowledge of the market and competition, to establish any shifts or trends that may affect sales and require action.
- Conducting buying trips to establish relationships with suppliers, understand manufacturing capability and opportunities, develop new products and negotiate prices and capacity plans.
- Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.
- Developing and leading a strong team, giving them the opportunity to be their best.
- Managing additional responsibilities that contribute to the running of the division and support your peer group.
Qualifications
- Experience in ladies clothing buying (multi‑product and online experience preferred).
- Strategic planning skills.
- Product development experience.
- Range and trade planning experience.
- Sourcing and managing a remote supply base, including FE/NE travel.
- Building strong business partnerships.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration with balance of buying team, merchandising, digital product & content team.
- Data analysis and numeracy skills.
