Introducing the Fexco Property Services Group
The Group currently consists of multiple property management brands, delivering property management services to over 100,000 homes across England and Wales. Our colleagues work on customer and client facing roles, as well as many other varied roles and skillsets, in a diverse, growing, and dynamic organisation and sector. We operate from multiple office locations throughout the UK, and we are part of the multi-national Fexco group, with products and services spanning multiple sectors and geographies internationally. About this Role:
We are seeking to further strengthen our estate management offer, delivering our ambition to be the managing agent of choice for green space and habitat management on residential estates. Our managed portfolio consists of over 650 sites ranging from small residential estates to large garden villages, country parks and urban extensions, many with existing ecological features such as woodland, ponds and waterways.
The Greenspace Manager is an exciting new role intended to transition those with existing property management skills into specialist Green Infrastructure and Biodiversity Managers. Candidates must be flexible and willing to commit to in-depth study, learning and work shadowing. Supported by an Area Greenspace Manager and colleagues, you will develop the skills required to deliver sector leading greenspace, estate and habitat management. You will be responsible for a portfolio of sites within a geographic area and take responsibility for delivering all estate contracts which may include landscape and habitat maintenance, management of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), management of protected species and biodiversity features, estate cleansing and lighting. You will be customer facing – the ‘on the ground’ face of Remus for residents with questions and queries about the management of their estate, supported by a central team who will take the initial calls and make appointments on your behalf to link with your visit schedules.
You will spend the majority of your time out on site rather than at a desk, following a schedule of visits to spend time on each site engaging with customers and contractors, identifying issues requiring rectification, specifying remedial works and working to ensure that all sites are managed to the highest standards in accordance with approved landscape management plans. You will scrutinise completed works and be responsible for approving expenditure, challenging and rectifying any issues directly with contractors. You will support the Area Managers to update specifications, site plans and budgets where required, and carry out pre-handover site audit reports on smaller sites in the quarter prior to handover to identify any issues requiring rectification before the site is accepted into management. These audits require a strong knowledge of horticultural practice, species identification and the ability to scrutinise and understand plans and landscaping specifications. Where sites are managed under Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements you will be responsible for instructing, recording and reporting all activities required to comply with Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans.
This is a home-based remote working role predominantly covering one geographic area, requiring regular travel to sites and occasional visits to FPS offices, training sessions, events etc when needed. You may also occasionally need to support colleagues in adjacent areas to cover annual leave, sickness etc. Our Head Office is in Salisbury, with subsidiary offices around the country.
