About this Role:

As part of Fexco Property Services, and reporting to theHead of Client Finances, this role will oversee a portfolio of key clients, and all financial aspects of managing the client’s funds, as well as have financial oversight of funds relating to cladding and remediation works. The role will be pivotal in assisting other departments, with providing excellent client and customer services. The role will also require the implementation of systems and procedures (as agreed by management) to enable the smooth and efficient handling of all processes, and ensure all deadlines are met.

Remediation Finance Responsibilities:

  • Maintain robust financial trackers for all HRB and MRB remediation schemes, including forecasts and cost-to-complete positions, funding allocations (BSF, CSS, developer-funded), and actual spend and committed costs.
  • Support programme budget profiling, cashflow forecasting, and financial risk identification for remediation works.
  • Reconcile remediation project accounts regularly, identifying variances and escalating funding shortfalls early.
  • Ensure financial data aligns across remediation trackers, finance systems, and external funding portals.
  • Prepare and validate financial data for funding submissions, including payment and drawdown requests.
  • Reconcile funding received against expenditure, maintaining oversight of payment status, drawdown timelines, and funding conditions.
  • Produce regular financial reports for the HRB & MRB Remediation Team, including forecast accuracy, variance analysis, and funding position summaries.
  • Support internal audits and external scrutiny by providing clear, defensible financial information.
  • Contribute to KPI reporting relating to budget control, forecast accuracy, and drawdown cycle times.

Financial Oversight of Landlord Certificates (SCR Process)

  • Provide financial review and sign-off within the SCR process, addressing financial queries or amendments arising during review to ensure accuracy ahead of certification.
  • Ensure charges applied via Landlord Certificates correctly reflect qualifying/non-qualifying leaseholder status and remediation funding position.
  • Work closely with Building Safety Managers, the Senior Remediation & Funding Manager, Finance and Accounts teams, and Property/Regional Managers on remediation cost control, invoice validation, forecasting and reporting.
  • Provide financial input to remediation stakeholder discussions where required.

Service Charge Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Production of year-end service charge accounts, client financial reporting, issuing of Section 20b notices, budget production, financial integration, financial offboarding, and RMC/Freeholder statutory accounts.
  • Ensure the year end service charge accounts are drafted, reviewed by the property team, certified/audited by an external accountant, and with the client for review, within agreed timeframes.
  • Assist with the development of procedures and controls to improve the responsiveness, efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of all outputs.
  • Promote the department as a key business partner to the property management team.
  • Be a direct line of contact for clients, and understand the client’s financial requirements to ensure expected service levels are met.
  • Prepare and analyse the audit findings on an Extended Trial Balance for the external auditors to review and test, responding to subsequent audit queries
  • Work closely with external business partners (external auditors and accountants) to maintain a consistently high standard of service to clients.
  • Support budget production and work closely with Budgeting/Billing team to ensure accuracy of billing.
  • Set appropriate controls and checks to safeguard transactions and ensure a high level of accuracy.
  • Ensure all client accounting is carried out in line with current legislation, regulations and best practice.
  • Bring the client accounting of new sites in line with the FPS, or any of the FPS brands, way of working.
  • Provide KPI’s and reporting to Head of Client Finance or other senior managers.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients and colleagues, ensuring that the department can respond quickly and accurately to all client and lessee queries and provide accurate reporting on the management of their records.
  • Together with the support of internal resources and external providers, continuously look for efficiencies in the use of systems and applications used to support the team.
  • At least 5 years’ experience within finance.
  • Previous experience working with external clients.
  • Fully or part qualified AAT/CIMA/ACCA, or QBE.
  • Sound knowledge of service charge accounts and relevant legislation/guidance.
  • Experience of working within a residential block management environment.
  • Use of Microsoft packages, including Word, Advanced Excel and Outlook.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • An effective team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • A “can do” and “right first time” attitude.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience of using QUBE system.
  • Knowledge of, or exposure to, Building Safety Fund (BSF), Cladding Safety Scheme (CSS), or developer-funded remediation programme finances.
