Founding DevOps Engineer / SRE in a FinTech fighting Financial Crime. Hybrid – Central London (3 days per week, City). Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 + Equity + Benefits.
Did you know financial fraud costs the UK economy £200bn+ per year, accounting for over 40% of crime in England and Wales? This early-stage FinTech is building the intelligence layer for payments — technology that investigates transactions in real-time before they clear, helping banks stop scams before money leaves an account.
They’re now hiring their first DevOps Engineer to build the reliability foundations of the platform.
The Company- Mission-driven, high-ownership culture
- Building infrastructure that banks depend on
- You’ll be joining at ground floor, helping ensure a system that investigates financial crime runs 24/7/365.
This isn’t a “keep the lights on” role. You’ll design and build the reliability, observability and infrastructure foundations that allow a fast-moving engineering team to ship safely.
You’ll:
- Own production reliability, monitoring, alerting, incident response and post-incident learning
- Build and evolve the Infrastructure as Code (Terraform on GCP)
- Implement observability across the stack: metrics, logs, traces, dashboards
- Improve deployment pipelines and release processes
- Design secure-by-default infrastructure
- Shape the company’s incident response culture and processes
- Introduce tooling to monitor AI-native systems and non-deterministic agents
You’ll be defining what “good” reliability looks like from day one.
