Founding Product Engineer (React, Typescript / Design Engineering) King's Cross, London (4 days/week) £90,000 - £120,000 + Equity

Founding Team | 0→1 Product | Climate Tech

We're partnering with a well-funded, early-stage climate technology startup that's using cutting-edge software and machine learning to solve one of the biggest challenges facing the energy transition. Backed by leading industry investors and already working with enterprise customers, they're now building their first commercial SaaS product and are looking for their first Product Engineer to help shape it.

The Role

This isn't a role where you'll join an established product team with a roadmap waiting for you. You'll work directly with the founders to take an existing demo and turn it into a product customers genuinely want to use, shipping improvements every week alongside real client feedback. The role is heavily front-end leaning (roughly 80/20), but you'll have ownership across product, design and engineering.

You'll be responsible for...

  • Building a product from demo through to commercial SaaS launch
  • Designing and shipping intuitive user experiences
  • Working directly with customers to rapidly iterate features
  • Helping define product direction, not just implementing tickets
  • Creating modern React applications with some 3D visualisation components
  • Being one of the first engineering hires and helping shape how the team grows

We're looking for someone who...

  • Has built products that real users actually use
  • Enjoys ambiguity and thrives in early-stage environments
  • Can turn broad company goals into product decisions without needing constant direction
  • Cares about design and user experience as much as writing clean code
  • Has strong React and Typescript experience
  • Has some exposure to 3D visualisation (commercial or side projects)
  • Wants genuine ownership rather than a small piece of a much larger product
  • Startup experience is highly valued we're looking for builders who enjoy creating products from scratch rather than optimising established systems.

Tech Stack: React, TypeScript, Vercel, Supabase, Azure

If you're someone who loves building products from zero, enjoys moving quickly, and wants to see your work make a tangible impact, I'd love to chat.
